A native of Toronto, trumpeter Andre Dubelsten has performed extensively as a soloist throughout North America and Europe. He has given performances at Steinway Hall in New York City, the Cathederal Villersexelle in Villersexelle France, San Marcos University in Lima, Peru, the Crystal Cathederal in Garden Grove California, the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, California, and Messiah College in Grantham Pennsylvania. From 2002-2004, he toured the United States with New York based soprano Devon Guthrie performing baroque works for trumpet and voice. He gave his first public performance at the age of nine, and in the following years was twice the winner of the National Trumpet Competition in Fairfax, Virginia, and received the level one Music for Youth scholarship award as a participant of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts program in Miami. Locally, Andre has performed with the Canadian Opera Company in productions of Don Carlos, La Boheme, Madama Butterfly, Otello, Aida, and the Gala Concert to welcome new conductor Johannes Debus. He is also an active clinician and teacher, and has given master-classes in France, Peru and across much of the United States.
